Why A Mission?

Deciding to serve a mission wasn't an easy choice for me. I had heard stories about people who just knew they were going to serve, even when they were little. This was not the case for me. In fact, if you would've asked me 6 months before I got my call if I was going to serve a mission, I would've said no. So what changed? What happened in those 6 months? How and why did I make the decision to leave my family, friends, and education for 18 months?

Prayer.

Lots and lots of prayer. And I gained a true understanding that Christ suffered and died for all of us, and every single person on this earth deserves to know that. Its simple really. "Because I have been given much, I too must give." So, I knelt down and told my Heavenly Father that I would go anywhere He wanted me to go.

I can already tell you now that deciding to go on a mission has been one of the best decisions I'll ever make. The fact that I get to be a representative of Jesus Christ for a year and a half is definitely something to smile about. One of those huge ear-to-ear grins that makes your cheeks sore. I'm so STOKED to serve the people of Nampa, Idaho!

If you get anything out of my little testimony, please know this. I KNOW that we have a Savior who died for us and lives again for us. Pray to Him. His love for you is so profound and He's waiting to bless you. I love you all and I'll see you in 18 months!!
