Week 60

I guess I haven't been praying hard enough because the snow came this week. Everyone here swears that they get snow by Halloween every year. And this year was no exception. So a white (and COLD) Halloween it was.

We weren't allowed to drive past 6 PM on Halloween, but they were having a trunk or treat at the church building that evening (basically in our yard lol) so we were able to hang out there.

Oh Halloween, I'll never understand you. Also, I only ate 1 piece of candy (mom you'd be proud) so go me!

So we had a lesson with Glen and we decided we would just read the Book of Mormon with him wherever he was at in his personal study. Well he just so happened to be on 2 Nephi 16 (which is all Isaiah) so we were a little worried but he actually LOVED it!! He got some weeeiiirrrdd things from it, but we made it work so that's all that matters! Sometimes I'm impressed by my ability to pull principles out of the crazy ideas Glen gets lol.

Saturday we had a miracle happen. We were planning that morning and setting goals about how many new people we could start teaching that day. I felt strongly that we should shoot for 3 (which is pretty crazy for only one day).

All day no one answered!! Like seriously, not a single door opened. So that evening we decided to tract some apartments nearby. Well within the first 30 mins or so we picked up 2 new people that we had met and taught right then. Wayyy awesome! But eventually time was running out and we had to leave soon but we still hadn't reached our goal. We felt so strongly that there was 1 more person we needed to find, so we asked God to lead us to where we needed to be and we felt the spirit totally guiding us right to the door of another person that we were able to teach right then!! Coooool!

I love experiences like that!! It just solidifies my testimony that God hears our prayers and that He knows His children! It's so fun to be on the Lord's errand! I wouldn't want to be doing anything else!

"C. S. Lewis explained God’s transforming power this way: 'Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably. … [You see,] He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of. … You thought you were [being] made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.'"
